Keep subject lines clear

Clear, too? Yes, you can keep them both short and clear with a clever little 2-step trick. First, pull out the 1-2 key word(s) or topic of the message. Second, attach a label at the end, not the beginning. Our Top 10 most useful labels are: Request, Needed, Questions, Announcement, Update, Answers, Problem, Apology, Thanks, and Recommendation. So, your reply email to Subject: Project Support Needed might be Project Support Questions. This technique is especially helpful with frequent email exchanges on the same topic because you can:
Still track your message trails by searching the key words
Differentiate them by the labels—rather than ending up with 10 different emails with the same subject line:
Subject: Re: Project Support Needed
 Subject: Re: Project Support Needed
 Subject: Re: Project Support Needed, etc.
For your rejections, though, simply adding Re: is the safest and easiest.
