Successful Global Presentation Series 18: Use ‘Tone Zones’

Successful Global Presentation Series 18:
Use ‘Tone Zones’

Yes, the voice is another tool just like your face, body, and eyes. And using the ‘Tone Zones’ (i.e. combinations of Louder & Softer with Longer & Shorter pronunciation) can help you use this tool more effectively. Try out these 4 possible combinations when you want to: emphasize key points or section titles (Louder + Longer); neutralize negative situations such as disagreement during a question (Softer + Longer); energize when receiving a good question or agreeing (Louder + Shorter); and ‘naturalize’ with your usual tone (Softer + Shorter). You’ll put your audience to sleep if you speak in a flat, soft unvarying tone. But you’ll keep ’em interested if you use the ‘Tone Zones’.
